This class is run exactly the way studios and producers run their notes sessions to the writers. You will learn how to sell your TV series before your script is considered. This includes pitches, pitch docs, pages, outlines, treatments, bibles, beat-sheets, one-pagers, and two-pagers. 

 

As a Developer at Sony, Jason reads countless scripts and pitch docs every week.

He has designed this class to provide notes and feedback in the same way it is done at the studio level with writers in development.

Lee has designed this class based on his experience as a showrunner, producer, and screenwriter working in a TV writer's room for over 30 years.

Who is this class for?

 

While this class benefits both newer and experienced writers, it is designed for those who are serious about building their career as a TV screenwriter. It is run exactly like a writer’s room, so it’s important students do all the work and take the assignments seriously, just as they would in a real TV writer’s room.

This class is designed for students who have completed Gang Writing Level 1. You will use the source material written from the "writers room" and perform your work in front of the camera. Lee and Jason collectively teach you how to bring your comedy scenes to life, showing you how to strengthen your skills as a writer. 

Who is this class for?

 

This class is only available to students who completed Gang Writing Level 1.

Improv Level 1: Fundamentals 
 

Active Listening for Activating

Your Characters and Scenes

Class size: 12 people

In this class you will learn how to listen and respond, clearly give and receive information, stay in the present moment, and follow your natural instincts. All while having a lot of fun while doing it!

Jason is a graduate of both The Groundlings and UCB improv, and has been studying and performing since 2007. He is currently the head improv instructor at the SAG-AFTRA Conservatory.

Who is this class for?

 

This class is for both beginners and seasoned professionals in any industry - not just entertainment. It's also beneficial for on-camera actors and screenwriters.

  • How to BE PRESENT

  • How to COMMUNICATE clearly and concisely

Improv Level 2: Characters
 

Creating Characters

for the Page and the Stage

Prerequisites: Improv Level 1: Fundamentals

Whether you’re writing characters or performing them, you have to find their unique voice and point of view.

 

This class is designed for students who have completed Improv Level 1: Fundamentals. It focuses on creating characters through solo and group improv exercises. For writers, this class helps differentiate each character’s voice. For actors, it allows you to make stronger and specific choices to stand out in the audition room and on camera.
